How Memberships Work (Instructor Guide)
Memberships allow you to offer recurring subscriptions to your clients — perfect for regular classes where you want predictable income and committed attendance.
What is a Membership?
A membership is a recurring subscription that gives clients access to book your classes.
You can:
- Charge automatically (monthly, quarterly, or yearly)
- Limit how many classes they can book
- Offer unlimited access
- Control how and when billing renews
Creating a Membership
Go to Admin → Dashboard → Memberships → Create Membership
You’ll see the following options:
Membership Name & Description
- Name: What clients will see (e.g. Unlimited Yoga Membership)
- Description: Explain what’s included (e.g. Access to all weekly classes)
Price
Set the price for the membership.
Billing Frequency
Choose how often clients are charged:
- Monthly
- Quarterly
- Yearly
Renewal Timing (Important)
You have two options for when payments renew:
1. From Signup (default)
-
Billing repeats based on when the client joins
(e.g. joins on 12th → renews on 12th each cycle)
✔ Simple
✔ Works well for most instructors
2. Fixed Day of Month (e.g. 1st)
- All members renew on the same day (e.g. 1st of each month)
When you select this, an additional option appears:
Prorate First Payment
-
Enabled (default):
The first payment is adjusted based on how much time is left until the next billing date
(e.g. joins on 20th → pays a reduced amount until the 1st)
-
Disabled:
The client pays the full amount immediately, even if the period is short
💡 Use this if you want all members aligned to a single billing cycle.
Limit Class Bookings (Optional)
You can control how many classes a member can book per period:
- Per week
- Per month
- Per quarter
- Per year
Examples:
- 4 classes per month
- 10 classes per month
- Leave empty for unlimited bookings
Required Onboarding Form (Optional)
You can require clients to complete a form before activating their membership.
Useful for:
- Health questionnaires
- Waivers
- Class preferences
Visibility Settings

- When enabled, the membership appears on your public booking page
- Turn off to create private memberships (you can still share a direct link)

When to Use Memberships
Memberships are ideal if you:
- Run regular weekly classes
- Want predictable monthly income
- Offer better value for repeat clients
For one-off bookings or short-term bundles, use Packages/Bundles instead.
Tips
- Start simple: monthly membership with a class limit
- Use pricing to encourage commitment (e.g. better value than pay-as-you-go)
- Consider a fixed renewal date if you want easier accounting
